Mr Godsway Kartey, the Project Coordinator, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the screening formed part of the schools and communities eye care project. He stated that about 1,000 people including school children were screened and provided medications in the Ho Municipality last year.

“Those who needed reading glasses were also given free of charge,” he said. Mr Kartey stated that Adaklu Kodzobi, Adaklu Waya and Adaklu Dave would be covered during the first phase of their community eye screening this year. He told the people that their eyes were a very delicate part of their body and advised them to protect and take good care of them. The Project Coordinator intimated that infection could develop in any part of their eyes including the cornea, conjunctiva or inside the eyeball.
