Mr. Emmanuel Bansah
Founder, Care and Concern Action Group (CCAG)
Care and Concern Action Group (CCAG) was founded in 1983 by the late Mr. Emmanuel Bansah, affectionately known as “Jimmy Darling.” Born and raised in Sokode Gbogame, he was a person with a physical disability from childhood. Despite this, he defied limitations and became a pioneering advocate for people with disabilities in the Volta Region of Ghana.
Motivated by compassion and a deep sense of purpose, he established CCAG to support individuals with disabilities and other vulnerable groups—at a time when disability issues were rarely addressed in development work. His vision, leadership, and personal commitment laid the foundation for what CCAG is today: a community-based organization promoting inclusion, empowerment, and access to healthcare and social services.
Mr. Bansah’s legacy continues to guide our mission, reminding us that true impact begins with courage, compassion, and the will to serve others.
