DKBW, or the Deutsches Katholisches Blindenwerk, is a German non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of blind, visually impaired, and deaf-blind people, both in Germany and worldwide. It acts as a central association for regional Catholic blindness organizations and runs various institutions, such as an audiobook library and the “Paulinevon-Mallinckrodt” publisher, to provide services, literature, and support for education and recreational activities. The DKBW is recognized by the German Bishops’ Conference and relies entirely on donations from individuals.
